Ginger Beef (Beef and Broccoli)
1 lb round steak, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp oil
1/4 C soy sauce
2 Tbsp whisky
1 clove garlic (1/2 tsp minced)
1/2 onion, chopped (1Tbsp dried)
2” fresh Ginger root (1 Tbsp dried)
2 Tbsp Corn starch in water
Brown meat in oil until all moisture is gone. Add remaining ingredients, except corn starch and up to 2 C water. Simmer until tender, adding water if necessary.
Add corn starch in water to boiling liquid until desired thickness is attained.
Variations: Add vegetables and tofu. Cover and cook 3 - 6 minutes until vegetables are tender crisp and tofu is warm.
